Reference Resources
What are reference books?
Reference books are designed for people to find specific information or facts on a topic. They are not supposed to be read from beginning to end. Examples of reference books are Atlases, dictionaries, encyclopedias, thesauruses.
To find the information you are looking for, you will need to look up your topic in the index (usually at the back of the book). Read the page number next to it to find the information.
Hint: Make sure you take notes of important keywords or phrases you come across to help you create your own text later on. It is also important that record where you got the information from (your sources).
